GEAR AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR ICE CLIMBING

Ice climbing inherently requires us to spend time out in below freezing temperatures, moving over uneven terrain, hiking with a pack on, and more. We can and will customize a day based on your skills and experience, but having a base level of fitness and equipment will greatly help make the day more enjoyable!

Please check out our Winter Gear List for recommended layers and gear to have a comfortable day.

If you have concerns about your fitness to hike and climb all day, please reach out to us and we can discuss these concerns, and give you tools to help prepare for our trip.

For more advanced goals, please be upfront with your skills and prior experience. We want to provide experiences that are within your reach and abilities, and don’t put yourself or our guides in unnecessary danger.
