The Trap Dike on Mt Colden is one of the best know alpine objectives in the Adirondacks. Over 13 miles you will hike, climb, and scramble over trails, lakes, waterfalls, and fourth and fifth class climbing. The Trap Dike itself is a 2000’ long climb that takes you to the top of Mt Colden, one of the ADK 46ers, or mountains over 4000’. If you want to have a big day in the mountains, top out on an Adirondack High Peak, and experience the joy of Alpine Climbing, look no further. Some prior climbing experience, and extensive hiking experience is required to do this trip in one day. Contact us for more info!

Bottle slide is a classic slide climb located in the heart of the Adirondacks, toping out on Giant Mountain, one of the Adirondacks high peaks. Bottle Slide is a shorter and slightly less strenuous trip than the Trap Dike, covering an 8 mile round trip, and roughly 1300’ of 3rd and 4th class climbing. The true summit is guarded by a cliff band and a bushwhack. The cliff band can be bypassed to the right, or tackled head on with a short pitch of 5th class climbing for a fun dessert. After summiting, we’ll follow hiking trails back to the cars to cap off the day. Some prior climbing experience is required, as is extensive hiking experience. Contact us for more info!
-
Henderson Ridge is a classic ridge climb in Huntington Ravine on Mt Washington. Though not as famous as other climbs in the area, Henderson is a great beginner alpine climb. We’ll start at Pinkham Notch and hike up into Huntington Ravine. From there, we’ll bushwack to the base of the ridge and rope up for about 700’ of low 5th class climbing, interspersed with scrambling and 4th class climbing. Once the ridge ends on the shoulder of Mt Washington, we have the option to skip the summit and hike down, or to hike another 1000’ to the summit before descending back to the parking lot.
